Pros: The HS-700 drone is simple to put together and very easy to fly. It comes with everything you need to get flying. I love the one button take off and landing. And it is great fun to watch it return to base and land itself. Usually within 2 feet of where I took off. Very impressive. I’ve been having great fun with this. I’ve crashed it a couple of times with no damage so I would say it’s pretty rugged. Cons: About the only thing I don’t like is the length of time it takes to charge the battery. Over 5 hours. I just want to keep flying, not sitting around waiting for the battery to charge.

Letter substituted for number. Overall Review: ** Water resistance is only self tested as I accidentally submerged the quadcopter into a moving creek. Unit still works for me but YMMV. After a few years of flying cheap sub $100 quadcopters, I wanted to get something that has the features you’d find in professional quadcopters, with a hobbyist’s price tag. I’ve been watching this quadcopter for quite some time now and oddly found it cheaper on NewEgg than the big “A” online store. First impression was great, everything was boxed and compartmentalized, and there was no question where each part belonged. I assembled the quadcopter in no time. Also helped that I watched YouTube videos on this model beforehand. Drone Patrol has a great one. After that I did my homework with the FAA. In the US you will be required to register this quadcopter with a $5 registration fee. Read up on where you can and can’t fly, and if you’re in doubt, download an application called “Airmap” and look. This is the official map app of the FAA. Essentially stay away from restricted air space and national parks. Local rules can vary from precinct to precinct. My first flight went well, got used to the controls in open area, then I piloted it intentionally into my cleared forest to practice precision. It did great until I went over my creek and didn’t notice small over hanging sticks and the quadcopter took a dive. I recovered it and sent it back into the air. Everything worked fine surprisingly, so I brought it down and took it in for a rice bath for safe measure. This thing is exponentially better than any of the sub $100 quadcopters I’ve flown, and I got this on sale for $200, which is an absolutely amazing price. Spare batteries and other accessories are a bit more expensive but I feel in the long run I’ll be worth it. I would really like their backpack too. Also this quadcopter could be carefully modded with a true gimbal if you wanted, and also there’s guides to modify the battery charger to be used with a hobby grade input, however this will circumvent the safe slow charge standard so only do that if you absolutely know what you’re doing.

Pros: This drone is not a toy. I love this Drone and it’s impressive. Easy to calibrate and fly. Nice camera video quality and a long flight time ! Well constructed. HS has excellent customer service and you can call or email them. Emails I have sent are always replied to within 24 hours. I believe HS to be reputable and honest. Shipped quickly and arrived sooner the expected. Cons: Proprietary battery. Batteries are expensive and take a long time to charge, about 5 hours. Buy extra batteries if you fly a lot. That’s the reason for 4 out of 5 eggs. Overall Review: I do recommend this drone because it has many features and a long flight time with very good construction and camera quality. The only down side is that battery charge times are long and additional batteries are expensive. Plan on buying at least one extra battery. They do have Excellent customer service that you can call or email and they will help you out and they stand behind their products.
