TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27-inch, WQHD (2560×1440), HDR IPS display with an ultrafast 165Hz* designed for professional gamers and those seeking immersive gameplay. Those are some serious specs, but not even the most exciting thing the VG27AQ has in store.
For the first time in any gaming monitor, Motion Blur Reduction and Adaptive-sync can be enabled at the same time. This new technology is called ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB SYNC). ELMB SYNC works with G-SYNC Compatible, allowing gamers to enjoy sharp, high speed frames.
TUF Gaming VG27AQ features WQHD (2560 x 1440) panel that delivers up to 77% more onscreen desktop space than standard Full HD (1920 x 1080) displays. IPS technology gives you superior images with outstanding colors thanks to 99% sRGB color gamut and an astounding 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Wide 178-degree viewing angles ensure minimal distortion and color shift even when you’re viewing from extreme positions.
TUF Gaming VG27AQ 165Hz* refresh rate decimates lag and motion blur to give you the upper hand in first person shooters, racers, real-time strategy, and sports titles. This ultrafast refresh rate lets you play at the highest visual settings and lets you react instantly to what’s onscreen — so you’ll get that first strike in.
*Selective graphics cards/GPUs can support 165Hz graphics source output (DP port). Please note that Over Clocking function/performance depends on the GPUs or contents displayed. ASUS only provides this function. The performance or any side effect after activation is not guaranteed.
When disabling G-SYNC Compatible, you may experience tearing.
When disabling ELMB, you may experience ghosting.
Now you can choose from multiple HDR modes to adjust monitor HDR performance based on the current viewing scenario
To more fully realize gamers’ vision, TUF Gaming is compatible with industry-standard HDR10 high dynamic range for color and brightness levels that exceed the capabilities of ordinary monitors.
ASUS Shadow Boost technology clarifies dark areas of the game without overexposing brighter areas, improving overall viewing while also making it easier to spot enemies hidden in dark areas of the map.
The ASUS-exclusive, integrated GamePlus hotkey offers in-game enhancements that help you get more out of your game. This function is co-developed with input from pro gamers, allowing them to practice and improve their gaming skills.
ASUS GameVisual Technology has seven pre-set display modes to optimize visuals for different types of content. This unique feature can be easily accessed through a hotkey or the on-screen display settings menu
Enhances the color of your opponents’ health/mana bars, so that you can simultaneously respond and be the first to destroy the opposing team’s main structure.
Enhances color saturation and contrast sharpness to give you better, brighter colors and detailed visuals for real-time strategy (RTS) or RPG games.
High contrast settings enhance the visibility even in dark scenes to clearly see your enemies.
Ideal settings for viewing photos and graphics online.
Provides a greater brightness range and introduces more contrast gradations. It tweaks color saturation for greens and blues, making it ideal for viewing photos and videos that depict scenery.
Reduces input lag for real time racing and fast gaming experience.
Enhances contrast and color saturation for lively, vivid visuals — ideal for viewing movies.
Flicker-Free technology reduces flicker to minimize eyestrain for improved comfort when you’re embroiled in long gaming sessions.
ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light technology reduces the amount of potentially harmful blue light emitted by the display. Four different filter settings are available to control the amount of blue light reduction.
Extensive connectivity options, including, I/O: DisplayPort1.2, HDMI (v2.0) support a wide array of multimedia devices.
With an ergonomically-designed stand, TUF Gaming VG27AQ provides tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments so you can easily find your ideal viewing position. The display is also VESA-compatible for wall mounting.

Pros: -Adaptive Sync and ELMB sync at the same time. Yes, it works, with some caveats. -Great contrast. -Lots of features, highly specced VA panel. -Minimal ghosting, even without ELMB enabled. Cons: -Not well calibrated out of the box. -ELMB introduces noticeably bad strobing at lower frame rates (below about 55). -Weak HDR. -The multi-directional knob sticks slightly on my sample (not sure if it’s a one-off or affects all samples). Overall Review: If you want both adaptive sync and back light strobbing at the same time, this is the way to go. Just be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of both technologies (ELMB significantly lowers the brightness of the display). The monitor is no slouch, even without ELMB enabled. If you’re looking for a curved 32″ 1440p, 144hz monitor, you could certainly do worse.

Pros: -G-Sync Compatible -IPS Panel -165hz overclock -Sensible button placement for OSD menu, they’re also physical and not touch buttons Cons: -OSD Menu could be expanded on. You can tweak the GameVisual presets but I wish they had just thrown in a “User” preset. At the moment I have tweaked “Racing Mode” to be my daily driver user mode. -HDRn’t…. can we stop calling monitors with peak 300-350nits with no full dimming arrays HDR? -ELMB Sync brightness does vary quite a bit in my testing so I chose to not use the feature. Overall Review: Overall this is a great monitor but do not get this for the “HDR”. If you’re in the market for a monitor that’s 1440p, IPS, 1ms, G-Sync Compatible and can hit 165hz, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better deal than this.

Solid monitor, brightness is definitely not hdr so don’t buy for hdr. Especially with elmb sync the brightness takes a huge hit. Besides that solid monitor with a nice image quality you do have to to tune the colors though out of the box mine had a bit of a green tint. Also it was over saturated.

Pros: Everything but the picture by picture mode. Cons: Picture by picture mode. I purchased this monitor specifically for the PBP and PIP modes. The images show two full half-screen images in the PBP mode, but this is NOT what you get. The best you can hope for is two half-height images making them too small to do much of anything. Overall Review: If you want ultrawide this isn’t a bad choice. Just know the PBP mode is NOT as advertised in the images.
