Pros: Amazing color accuracy Minimal gtg ghosting/artifacts behind moving objects and no overdrive artifacts 144hz refresh rate @ 4k is a great combination Negligible halo effects around lighter objects in dark scenes (eg. white mouse on black background) Very light! the weight on this monitor is great, I run a dual arm vesa mount and where my other monitor arms would start to sag over time this feels like it floats. Edit: Each monitor comes with a color accuracy printout, the description says ≤2 delta E on the website but on my sheet the highest is 1.2 delta E with everything else falling under 1 on the sRGB color space. Cons: Very minimal backlight bleed when viewing at an angle (as an example, a black and grey image blends together if viewed at steep enough angles) Large bezels! this is very hard to recommend for setups that want multi-monitor setups with “seamless” transitions between monitors. Personally I run this separate with a secondary vertical mounted screen for reading and browsing so it doesn’t effect me, however it is still something to be aware of when they’re roughly 5/8ths of an inch Overall Review: Not a Pro or a Con but something to be aware of: this does not use a standard monitor plug and does not have an internal power supply. It has an external power brick with a fairly long cord up to a barrel plug for the monitor and a non standard 3 barrel plug from the brick to a grounded plug to the wall. If you want a bright/vibrant/fast and sharp 4k high refresh rate monitor I would recommend this, the price is a little high but the panel I got is fantastic and feels worth the price to me. I do want to make it known I came from 3 generations of different 1080p monitors prior to this. I started with a $600 BenQ TN panel, then jumped to a $400 Asus TN panel then to a $300 MSI VA panel (the price difference is due to the technology maturing) All of the monitors I used up until this one were great and fulfilled their purpose but so far this ROG monitor blows them out of the water in terms of vibrancy and refresh rate with the BenQ probably being the close 2nd. With my older Asus and MSI monitors it did not offer true 144hz they had to use overdrive and overclocking to hit 144hz without ghosting and overdrive artifacts. This monitor hits 144hz with no issues and could probably overclock higher (not really worth it personally because I wont hit the 144hz limit @ 4K) Side note that I appreciate: it comes with non keyed DP and HDMI cables.

Pros: Excellent price to performance ratio Beautiful picture and color Great OSD Gsync premium Cons: No speakers (most won’t care, but if you aren’t prepared you will be playing silently until you get headphones or external speakers) HDMI 2.0 More gamer aesthetic than I’d like but it’s mostly on the backside of the panel Overall Review: This is my first 4k monitor and it impressed me right away. I guess i had to see to believe. The range of features is excellent and the default color settings look great. From what I understand, all IPS monitors suffer from backlight bleed and this is no different but i consider it minimal and not noticeable in action. Ymmv on this, some people have a lower tolerance for this sort of thing. Everything worked right out of the box and gsync is a miraculous invention. The build quality is nice, it feels like a premium product. For reference, i bought the recently released gigabyte m32u and put them side by side. I wanted to like the gigabyte better because it’s 32″ and has HDMI 2.1, but i couldn’t deny the overall better image quality and color accuracy of the ROG. And the backlight bleed on the gigabyte was noticeable and distracting. I figure most people, like me, will be torn between the xg27uqr and the m32u because of HDMI 2.1 (and the larger screen) If you’re desperate for a sub $1000 4k monitor with 2.1, then the gigabyte will satisfy you i think. The simple fact is i enjoyed looking at the xg27uqr more, and is that not what a monitor is for?

Pros: If you don’t have a 4k monitor, you’re missing out on life. For 10 min I was just staring at my desktop icons since they all looked like little gems. Cons: None. Overall Review: Amazing. Best 4k monitor for the moneyz.
